Go to your profile after opening Instagram.
To locate the Menu, look for the More option.
Select how you want other people to communicate with you from the drop-down menu.
Click on Story Replies and Messages.
Press the "Show activity status" button.
To disable your activity status, toggle the button next to Show Activity Status.
